Celestial Park: The Heartbeat of Epic Universe

Welcome to Celestial Park, the radiant core of Universal’s Epic Universe — a land that’s so much more than just the central hub. It's where your adventure begins, unfolds, and ends in starlit wonder. Whether you’re stepping through the grand Chronos gate or entering from the serene Helios Grand Hotel, Celestial Park sets the tone for the magic that lies ahead.

I had the amazing opportunity to stay at the Helios Grand Hotel this past May — a separate blog about my full stay is coming soon — but for now, I want to dive into my experience entering the park from the exclusive hotel entrance and explore all the wonder this land has to offer.

Two Entrances, Two Perspectives

🌿 From Helios Grand Hotel

My first introduction to Epic Universe came through the guest-exclusive park entrance from the Helios Grand Hotel, and it was breathtaking. Just beyond the hotel’s garden-lined path stands a majestic statue of Apollo, kneeling at the edge of a glistening fountain and aiming his arrow skyward.

The path into the park is a gently sloped ramp that winds through the gardens — and I’m so glad it’s a ramp! It makes the experience so much easier for those with accessibility needs, and after a long park day, not having to climb stairs back to your resort is a huge plus. I even paused mid-way just to soak in the view and the peaceful sound of running water.

🎥 Check out my walk-through from this entrance over on Instagram and TikTok. Bonus tip: there's a designated spot near the top of the ramp for service animals to take a break!

⌛ From Chronos at the Main Gate

A couple of days later, I entered the park the traditional way — through the giant portal at Chronos, the front entrance for all guests. And wow… what an entrance. Just past the portal, you’re greeted by Lune, another celestial statue resting in a water feature. If you stand just right, the halo behind her perfectly frames the Helios Grand Hotel in the distance. Magical!

🎟 If you're taking part in a VIP Tour, your check-in area is off to the right of Chronos, where you’ll meet your guide and go through a private security screening.

✨ Fountains, Fireworks & Fabulous Views

Just steps into the park from the hotel, you're welcomed by a massive main fountain surrounded by colosseum-style grass seating. Think Bellagio Fountains, but with a celestial twist. Day or night, these choreographed water shows are absolutely mesmerizing.

One thoughtful feature I loved was the large rectangular umbrellas with benches surrounding the fountain area. They offer shade, shelter from those famous Florida rain showers, or just a quiet place to regroup. (Speaking from rainy experience here!)

💥 Don’t miss the nighttime drone and fireworks show above Helios Grand Hotel. Trust me — grab a spot facing the hotel from the main fountain for the best view!

🚀 Attractions in Celestial Park

Stardust Racers

This dual-launch roller coaster is one of the most innovative rides at Epic Universe. Two tracks twist and race through the sky, with near-miss moments that make riders feel like they’re racing comets across the stars. The vehicles are themed as cosmic star chariots, and the lighting at night is stunning — a glowing streak like a shooting star.I didn’t brave this one myself, but I loved watching it in action!

Constellation Carousel

I loved this ride. It may be a carousel, but this is no ordinary merry-go-round. The ride vehicles — constellation creatures like lions, whales, and peacocks — are only attached to the floor, allowing them to move up, down, and even gently spin during the ride. There are a few different soundtracks, and I got the nighttime “Constellation After Dark” version both times, which had a fun club-like vibe. With views of the nearby fountains, this is a can’t-miss for all ages!

🎶 Entertainment Highlights

  • The Celestial Fountain Show runs multiple times a day.

  • Live music can be found at the bandstand near the carousel. I caught a jazz band with a live singer, which was incredible.

  • I also saw a violinist performing near Stardust Racers — his set was ending just as I arrived, but the vibe was unforgettable.

🎧 Shoutout to whoever created the Celestial Park soundtrack — it’s perfectly atmospheric. Fingers crossed it ends up on Spotify or Apple Music!

🍕 Food & Drink

I didn’t get a chance to eat much in Celestial Park (saving my appetite for the other lands), but it’s definitely on my list for next time. Here’s what I learned:

  • Frosty Moon: A whimsical ice cream stand with creative frozen treats.

  • Pizza Moon: Known for its delicious 12-inch pizzas (feeds two!), though currently no takeout boxes are provided.

  • Comet Dogs: Classic theme park hot dogs with some interstellar twists.

  • The Oak & Star Tavern: This Quick Service spot is getting rave reviews, especially for their breakfast platters and the now-viral mango bread.

Table Service Restaurants

  • Atlantic: A high-end seafood and steak restaurant with upscale nautical theming. Think luxury ocean liner meets galaxy vibes. Guests can enjoy fine dining with a view of the Celestial Park lagoon.

  • The Blue Dragon Pan-Asian Restaurant: Though not open during my visit, I saw them filming promotional content, which was cool! This table service location will offer a variety of Asian-inspired dishes with a futuristic twist. Can’t wait to check it out next time.

🛍 Shopping the Universe

Shopping starts just past Chronos and includes:

  • A sweets shop with intergalactic candy creations.

  • A Christmas store with festive and themed merchandise.

  • Lens Flare Photo Shop, where you can view and purchase photos from your visit and pick up Epic Universe gear to commemorate your trip.

💫 Final Thoughts

Celestial Park is more than a gateway to the other lands — it’s a fully immersive space that sets the tone for the entire Epic Universe experience. Universal has crafted a brand-new original land that stimulates all your senses — from breathtaking views to ambient music and stellar entertainment.
