Theme Park History
Islands of Adventure, the second theme park at Universal Orlando Resort, opened on May 28, 1999. Designed as a journey through various themed "islands," the park brought to life beloved stories and characters, offering immersive experiences and cutting-edge attractions. From the epic adventures of Marvel Super Hero Island to the whimsical world of Dr. Seuss in Seuss Landing, Islands of Adventure set a new standard for theming and storytelling. The park's most notable expansion came with the addition of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Hogsmeade in 2010, which became a landmark attraction. Continually innovating, Islands of Adventure remains a top destination for fans of thrills and fantastical adventures.
