Theme Park History
Disney's Hollywood Studios, originally named Disney-MGM Studios when it opened on May 1, 1989, was conceived as a theme park celebrating the golden age of Hollywood and the magic of film and television. It began as both a theme park and an active production studio, offering guests a behind-the-scenes look at the filmmaking process. Over the years, the park evolved from its original concept, introducing more thrill rides and immersive experiences based on popular movies and franchises. Today, Disney's Hollywood Studios is home to iconic attractions like Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, Toy Story Land, and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, making it a vibrant celebration of entertainment in all its forms.
