Theme Park History
EPCOT, originally conceptualized by Walt Disney as the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, opened on October 1, 1982, as the second theme park at Walt Disney World. Designed to celebrate human achievement and innovation, EPCOT was divided into two distinct areas: Future World and World Showcase. Future World focused on technological advancements and scientific exploration, while World Showcase highlighted the culture, cuisine, and traditions of various countries around the globe. Over the years, EPCOT has evolved, introducing new attractions and experiences, such as the recent addition of Remy's Ratatouille Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Today, EPCOT remains a testament to the spirit of innovation and global community, offering guests a journey of discovery and inspiration.
